Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Lebohang Maboe has played down concerns about his limited minutes since joining Amakhosi, saying he believes his opportunity to start will arrive in due time.
CAF Experience Adds Value
With seven years of CAF inter-club competition experience from his time at Mamelodi Sundowns, where he featured in the CAF Champions League group stage every season, Maboe brings significant continental pedigree to Chiefs.
Now in his third month at the club after arriving at the start of the 2025/26 season, the 31-year-old remains calm and focused.
Kaizer Chiefs My Chance Will Come
“I’ve settled in very, very well and I know my chance will come. The players that are playing, my teammates, are doing very well,” Maboe said.
“I trust my abilities and it’s just a matter of time. For now, it’s about supporting those who are playing and clapping for others while I wait for my chance.”
Experience Could Help in CAF Clash Against Zamalek
Maboe believes his knowledge of continental football could be an asset in tomorrow’s CAF Confederation Cup Group D encounter against Zamalek at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
“I think in some games, it’s going to come in very handy because I know how it feels playing away and the pressure of this competition,” he said.
Reflecting on their previous match in Egypt, he noted, “It gave us a false sense of being in control because we didn’t convert our chances, but I know we will grow in the tournament.”
