Polokwane City and TS Galaxy shared the spoils in a hard-fought 0–0 draw at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, a result that keeps both clubs tightly packed in the Betway Premiership mid-table battle.
Polokwane started brightly and carved out the first real opening when Sibusiso Tshabalala headed just wide from a corner in the second minute. The hosts continued to ask questions through Saketso Moremi, Thabang Matuludi and Lebohang Nkaki, but their final efforts either missed the target or were blocked.
Galaxy grew into the game, with Mehdi Ouamri forcing an early save from Brian Bwire and later flashing efforts over the bar. Junior Zindoga and Seluleko Mahlambi also posed a threat on the break, but the Rockets could not find the cutting edge to beat the Polokwane defence.
The second half followed a similar pattern. Matuludi drew a save from Ira Tapé soon after the restart, before Nkaki headed over from a corner. The best chance for Rise and Shine fell to substitute Puleng Tlolane, whose powerful strike from the centre of the box was superbly pushed away by Tapé on 81 minutes.
Galaxy introduced Victor Letsoalo and later Igor to chase a winner, and Zindoga went close late on, but neither side could land the decisive blow. A late yellow card for Nkaki summed up Polokwane’s frustration, while Galaxy will feel they might have stolen all three points on another day.
Both teams walk away with a point, leaving TS Galaxy on 20 points and Polokwane City also on 20, locked in the congested pack behind the leading title contenders.
