AFCON 2025 Prize Money: What Bafana Bafana Stand to Earn in Morocco
Bafana Bafana will head into the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco buoyed by their bronze-medal finish at the last tournament, and with significant prize money on offer as CAF ups the stakes.
The continental body will distribute a total of US$32 million in prize money at AFCON 2025, which kicks off on 21 December.
All teams that qualify for the tournament are guaranteed a base payment of $500,000, awarded to sides that finish fourth in their group.
If Bafana finish third in their group, that figure rises to $700,000, while reaching the Round of 16 earns $800,000.
Progressing deeper into the tournament brings major financial rewards. Quarter-finalists will pocket $1.3 million, while semi-finalists are assured $2.5 million.
Having claimed bronze at the previous AFCON, Bafana will be aiming to go even further this time around. The runners-up will receive $4 million, while the champions will walk away with a massive $7 million.
