Back to 2010? Bafana Bafana’s New Adidas Kit Set for Nostalgic Look
With Bafana Bafana’s new Adidas kit expected to drop in March, fresh details about the look and feel of the strip have begun to surface.
What we know so far
In just a couple of months, South African supporters will finally get their first glimpse of Bafana Bafana’s new Adidas World Cup kit — a release that has already generated plenty of excitement.
Adidas has already rolled out World Cup designs for several nations, including Germany, Belgium, Colombia and Algeria, but South Africa’s kit has remained largely under wraps.
However, according to FootyHeadlines, a trusted source for football kit leaks and early reveals, the upcoming Bafana home and away jerseys will take inspiration from the iconic kits worn at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
That influence is expected to reflect clearly in the colour choices. The home shirt is set to stick with the classic yellow base, complemented by green detailing, staying true to Bafana’s traditional identity.
The away kit, meanwhile, is reportedly dark green — another familiar look for Mzansi supporters — with the official colourway described as “Dark Green / Team Green.”
While official images are still to come, the nod to 2010 is likely to strike a nostalgic chord with fans as South Africa prepares for the next chapter on the World Cup stage.
