Orlando Pirates loanee Karim Kimvuidi continues to find the net in Israel despite another difficult afternoon for his side.
The 23-year-old was once again on the scoresheet for FC Ashdod, but his goal proved a mere consolation as they were convincingly beaten 5–2 by Kiryat Shmona in the Ligat Ha’Al.
Kimvuidi, who joined Ashdod on a season-long loan from Orlando Pirates in August 2025, has now scored three league goals this campaign, with two of those coming in his last four appearances following a return from injury. His recent form has been one of the few positives in an otherwise challenging spell for the club.
The Israeli outfit hold a club option to sign the Congolese utility player on a permanent three-year deal, should he continue to impress over the remainder of the season.
Across all competitions, the former DR Congo U23 international has registered three goals and one assist in 13 matches, underlining his growing influence in the final third.
However, Ashdod’s struggles continue. The club are currently on a nine-game winless run in the league and sit 11th in the 14-team standings, leaving them on course for the relegation play-offs contested by the bottom eight sides.
Next up, Ashdod face a crucial clash against Maccabi Bnei Reineh, who are bottom of the table, on Saturday, 17 January, in what could be a defining fixture in their fight for survival.
