Mamelodi Sundowns and Stellenbosch FC are close to finalising a loan deal for winger Kobamelo Kodisang until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old recently returned to South Africa after his loan spell with AVS Futebol SAD in Portugal was cut short, leaving him back at Sundowns with limited chances of regular football.
With game time hard to come by, a temporary move is now being explored. The switch would see Kodisang reunite with Gavin Hunt, who handed him his topflight debut at Bidvest Wits and played a key role in his early development.
Kodisang joined Sundowns two seasons ago on a five-year deal but has struggled to break into the star-studded squad. He is understood not to be part of head coach Miguel Cardoso’s immediate plans, accelerating talks with Stellenbosch.
A move to the Winelands could help revive his career, with Hunt recently appointed at Stellies following Steve Barker’s departure to Simba SC. Negotiations are believed to be at an advanced stage, with both clubs hopeful of concluding the loan before the transfer window closes.
