Bafana Bafana duo Lyle Foster and Mohau Nkota were on the scoresheet—directly and indirectly—after making telling contributions for their clubs in league action on Saturday.
Fresh from an impressive Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Morocco, Foster continues his gradual reintegration into the Burnley line-up. The striker came off the bench at Turf Moor and capped a slick team move to put Scott Parker’s side 2–1 ahead against Tottenham Hotspur, netting his third league goal of the season. Burnley were later pegged back to draw 2–2, leaving them 19th on the table and seven points adrift of safety.
In Saudi Arabia, Nkota continued his strong start to life with Al Ettifaq. The pacey winger registered his third league assist—adding to two goals in 13 appearances—by teeing up Khalid Al-Ghannam in a 2–1 victory over Al Kholood. The win lifted Al Ettifaq to sixth place, though they remain 15 points behind leaders Al Hilal.
Both players will be keen to build on this momentum ahead of the March FIFA international window, which doubles as preparation for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
