Ex-Kaizer Chiefs, Bafana Bafana Winger Kgaogelo Sekgota Signs for Siwelele FC

Siwelele FC have confirmed the capture of former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana winger Kgaogelo Sekgota ahead of the second round of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership campaign.

The Limpopo-born attacker bolsters Siwelele’s forward options as the club continues to shape a competitive squad under head coach Lehlohonolo Seema. It marks another step in the club’s rebuild during their maiden season in the top flight, following the acquisition of SuperSport United’s Premiership status at the start of the campaign.

Life in the PSL has proved demanding for Siwelele so far. After 15 league matches, they sit in the bottom half of the standings with 16 points, having recorded four wins, four draws and seven defeats.

Sekgota arrives after a brief spell in the ABC Motsepe League with Tubatse United, where he featured shortly before the AFCON break. Prior to that, the left-footed winger was on the books of Motsepe Foundation Championship side Upington City FC. His career has been punctuated by off-field challenges that have stalled the progress once expected of him.

Previously, Sekgota turned out for several top-flight sides, including Kaizer Chiefs, Stellenbosch FC, Moroka Swallows and Bidvest Wits, and also earned caps for Bafana Bafana.

Now 29, Sekgota will be eager to use the second half of the season as a platform to revive his career and rediscover the explosive pace and flair that once troubled defenders. He is expected to compete with experienced wide men Tebogo Potsane and Vincent Pule for a starting role as Siwelele push for a top-eight finish.
