Kaizer Chiefs Chase Sixth Win as Pressure Mounts on Chippa United

Flying Chiefs Look to Punish Goal-Shy Chilli Boys in Premiership Clash

Kaizer Chiefs return to Betway Premiership action on Wednesday night with growing confidence and a clear opportunity to build further momentum as they visit bottom-placed Chippa United at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Chiefs, currently fifth, can still finish the year inside the top three — or even top the table — depending on results elsewhere. Chippa, meanwhile, are in deep crisis and urgently need points to climb off the foot of the standings.

The head-to-head history strongly favours Amakhosi. Chiefs have won 15 of the past meetings, compared to Chippa’s eight, with four draws. Their last clash ended 0-0 in April, but before that Chiefs had recorded three straight wins and multiple clean sheets against the Chilli Boys.

Current form reinforces that picture. Chippa have lost 13 of their last 20 matches in all competitions and have gone three consecutive home games without scoring. Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, dropped for the past two fixtures, is again expected to miss out as Dumisani Msibi retains the gloves.

Chiefs, by contrast, are gathering momentum after six league victories, boasting a perfect defensive record away from home this season — no goals conceded on the road. Their strengthened structure, sharper transitions and improved finishing have made them one of the PSL’s best travellers.

With Chiefs pushing for a strong finish to 2025 and Chippa struggling to score or defend, the odds lean heavily towards an Amakhosi victory. A 2-0 or 3-0 win remains the most likely outcome unless Chippa can summon something unexpected.
