Magesi FC Secure Pirates Duo Sifiso Luthuli and Siyabonga Ndlozi on Loan

Betway Premiership strugglers Magesi FC have bolstered their squad after completing loan deals for striker Sifiso Luthuli and right-back Siyabonga Ndlozi from Orlando Pirates.

The two players will remain at the Limpopo-based club until the end of the 2025/26 season as Magesi look to arrest their difficult league campaign.

Luthuli, 24, joined the Buccaneers’ academy at the age of 17 and was regarded as one of the club’s brightest attacking prospects during the 2019/20 DStv Diski Challenge campaign. He later gained senior experience with Pirates’ feeder side Pele Pele and enjoyed a loan spell at Pretoria Callies during the 2022/23 season.

Despite his development, the striker found opportunities limited under head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, prompting Pirates to sanction a loan move to ensure regular first-team football.

Ndlozi, meanwhile, arrived at Pirates after impressing with the Golden Arrows reserve side. The 23-year-old made his professional debut while on loan at Orbit College during the 2023/24 Motsepe Foundation Championship season.

He was recalled to the Pirates setup at the start of the 2024/25 campaign and made his senior debut in January 2025 during a CAF Champions League group-stage clash against Al Ahly in Cairo, coming on just 34 minutes into the contest. Like Luthuli, Ndlozi struggled for consistent minutes under Ouaddou, leading to his temporary move away from the Soweto giants.

Both players have already turned out for Magesi FC, featuring in a top-four invitational tournament at Mafori Stadium in Lebowakgomo on Friday, 16 January 2026. The competition, which was won by the hosts, also included Polokwane City and Gomora United.

The Pirates duo could face their parent club when Magesi travel to the Orlando Stadium for a Betway Premiership encounter on Saturday, 31 January 2026.

Magesi currently sit second from bottom on the league standings, having collected just 11 points from 14 matches, and will be hoping the arrival of Luthuli and Ndlozi provides a timely boost in their fight for survival.
