Nedbank Cup 2026 draw sets the stage for thrilling knockout football

South African football fans can look forward to another action-packed campaign after the draw for the 2026 Nedbank Cup delivered a mix of heavyweight showdowns and classic giant-killing opportunities.

The Premier Soccer League, together with Nedbank, officially launched the 19th edition of the country’s flagship knockout competition, with the Round of 32 once again promising drama, surprises and nationwide excitement.

Renowned for its David-versus-Goliath narratives, the Nedbank Cup continues to give emerging clubs a rare chance to test themselves against established top-flight sides. Last year’s unforgettable final, which saw Kaizer Chiefs edge rivals Orlando Pirates, underlined why the tournament remains one of the most anticipated events on the local football calendar.

This year’s theme, “More than a number,” shines a spotlight on the people, stories and identities behind the shirts. Nedbank Group Executive for Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Khensani Nobanda, explained that jersey numbers symbolise legacy and belonging, while fans themselves are the heartbeat of the game.

Off the field, supporters can also engage through Nedbank’s Score Your Loan competition, where accurate match predictions stand to win personal loan prizes of up to R50,000. Meanwhile, the tournament’s Sport Affinity programme continues to leave a lasting legacy, investing in grassroots development and multipurpose sports courts across the country. Over the past three decades, more than R49 million has been channelled into sports facilities and youth development initiatives.

The 2026 Nedbank Cup gets underway in February and runs through to May, with fans able to follow fixtures, news and exclusive content via the official competition platforms and social media channels.
