Sinoxolo Kwayiba Leaves Orlando Pirates to Rejoin Chippa United on Permanent Deal
Orlando Pirates have confirmed the permanent departure of Sinoxolo Kwayiba, with the attacker returning to his former club Chippa United just months after arriving in Soweto.
Kwayiba joined the Buccaneers at the start of the season following an impressive campaign with the Chilli Boys, where he scored seven goals and registered one assist in 27 league outings, form that also earned him a call-up to Bafana Bafana. However, the 25-year-old struggled to establish himself at Pirates, managing only four appearances across all competitions without a goal contribution amid fierce competition for places.
With Pirates looking to streamline their squad and make room for further reinforcements, the club opted to part ways with the forward after a brief spell. The move sees Kwayiba head back to familiar territory in Gqeberha, where he previously enjoyed the most productive period of his club career.
Now under the guidance of Vusumuzi Vilakazi, Kwayiba is expected to play a key role as Chippa United battle to move away from the foot of the Betway Premiership table. The Bafana Bafana international, who has one goal in three senior caps, will be eager to reignite his form when the Chilli Boys resume league action against Orbit College on 24 January, following the conclusion of the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
