The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has officially confirmed the details for the eagerly anticipated Nedbank Cup Round of 32 draw, which will take place on Thursday, 15 January at 19:00.
All 32 teams will be placed in a single pot, setting the stage for potential blockbuster clashes as top-flight giants could be paired against lower-division or amateur sides right from the start.
With the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations drawing to a close and Bafana Bafana already eliminated, attention now shifts firmly back to the domestic game. While the Betway Premiership is scheduled to resume on 20 January, the Nedbank Cup draw will serve as the first major highlight on the local football calendar in 2026.
In an official statement, the Premier Soccer League confirmed the return of the competition under its famous slogan:
“‘Ke Yona Ya Rona’ is back! As we reveal each team’s destiny, the 19th edition of the Nedbank Cup promises to once again place football supporters and all participating clubs at the centre of every celebration.”
The PSL also revealed that the draw event will include a first look at the tournament’s new campaign theme, “Score Your Loan – where when they score, you score too.”
The Round of 32 matches are provisionally scheduled for 4 February, featuring:
16 Betway Premiership clubs
8 teams from the Motsepe Foundation Championship playoffs
8 amateur sides
Defending champions Kaizer Chiefs will be hoping for a favourable draw as they begin their title defence, while fans across the country eagerly await to see which giants may be handed tricky away ties against ambitious lower-league opponents.
