Sekhukhune United Sign Lehlohonolo Mojela From Stellenbosch

Sekhukhune United have officially strengthened their attacking ranks with the signing of striker Lehlohonolo Mojela ahead of the high-stakes second half of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

Babina Noko unveiled the 29-year-old on Wednesday following his move from Stellenbosch FC, confirming a homecoming for the Limpopo-born forward. Mojela returns to familiar surroundings having previously represented TS Sporting, Platinum City Rovers, Casric Stars and TS Galaxy, where he initially made his name in the top flight.

Sekhukhune United now become Mojela’s sixth club in as many seasons, and the striker will be eager to finally settle and play a key role as the club pushes what would be an unlikely title challenge. His arrival follows a somewhat tense exit from Stellenbosch, where he made 15 appearances before reports suggested he had been asked to train with the reserves following a dispute.

Mojela had joined the Winelands outfit in June 2024 as one of the most sought-after forwards on the market after a breakout campaign with TS Galaxy. Despite an injury-disrupted debut season at Stellies, he still managed six goals in just nine matches, underlining his threat when fit.

Now, the experienced attacker will look to fuel the ambitions of an in-form Sekhukhune United side currently sitting third on the Betway Premiership table. Under Eric Tinkler, Babina Noko have claimed seven wins from their opening 13 league matches and remain firmly in the title conversation.

In a twist of fate, Mojela could make his competitive debut against his former employers when Sekhukhune United host Stellenbosch on 20 January.
