SA Stars Abroad Shine — But Still No Place in Bafana Squad

Bafana Exiles: Mailula, Human & Links Impress Overseas

Cassius Mailula (KV Kortrijk, Belgium – Challenger Pro League)

Cassius Mailula finally made his KV Kortrijk debut, coming on for the last half-hour in a 2–0 defeat to FC Liège. Kortrijk remain second in the promotion race with 35 points.

Mailula, who has fallen out of the Bafana Bafana setup due to limited minutes in MLS and abroad, hopes this Belgian loan spell revives his national-team prospects ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Next match: vs RFC Seraing – 13 December

Rowan Human (FK Partizani, Albania – Kategoria Superiore)

Rowan Human scored his first goal for FK Partizani, striking early in a 2–0 derby win over KF Tirana. The 24-year-old has now made 11 appearances since signing in August.

Partizani are sixth on the log with 20 points, just three away from the championship playoff places.

Human, another player outside Hugo Broos’ current Bafana plans, will look to build on this momentum.

Next match: vs Flamurtari – 13 December

Gift Links (AGF Aarhus, Denmark – Superliga)

Gift Links has been nominated for Danish Superliga Player of the Month after a superb November in which he played every minute of AGF’s five matches.

AGF beat Silkeborg, FC Copenhagen and Randers, helping them climb to 1st place with 40 points from 18 games. Links has 3 goals and 4 assists across all competitions.

Despite his form, Links remains excluded from Broos’ AFCON 2025 squad, with the coach insisting he is “not at the required level” — a stance that has angered the player’s representatives.
